Join the Lemhi County Museum and the Sacajawea Interpretive, Cultural, and Educational Center on Thursday, March 11th at 7:00 pm for a ZOOM presentation by Dr. Orlan Svingen.
Dr. Orlan Svigen, Professor of History at Washington State University, will present a program and discussion on the film, “In Good Faith” which he produced. The film explores and examines the 1868 Virginia City Treaty, signed “In Good Faith” between Tendoy and other Mixed Bands leaders and the United States government but was never ratified. The film also reveals the discovery of the signed and sealed Cession Document and the clearly stated boundaries and parameters of the 1868 treaty: over 12,000 miles of territory the Bands ceded in the present-day states of Wyoming and Montana in exchange for a permanent treaty reservation on the Salmon River.
Question and answer period to follow.
The film, “In Good Faith” is available to watch on Vimeo.
