Join the Sacajawea Center and Lemhi County Historical Society for an evening program presented by Garry Bush, president of the Idaho Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Trail Alliance Idaho Chapter.
Experience the unfamiliar story of how Chinese trade influenced the exploration of North America. Hear how men schemed, perished, and profited searching for the Northwest Passage and the mythical River of the West. Eventually this saga compelled the visionary, Thomas Jefferson to send Lewis & Clark to the Pacific Ocean.
Garry Bush has taught for over 50 years in the public-school and college systems of California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. He has degrees in Geography, History and Photography; was a Idaho Teacher Consultant for the National Geographic Society; and completed the National Park Service’s Camp of Instruction at Fort Clatsop. Garry is a certified First-Person Living History Presenter and has told the story of the Lewis & Clark Expedition’s Toussaint Charbonneau & “Pomp” throughout six states. He operates a regional tour business, has been an on-board Guest Historian for two cruise boat companies, and conducts tours of Historical Downtown Lewiston, Idaho.
